Credit Controller Apprentice

Introduction

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a motivated and detail- orientated individual to join our Finance Team as a L2 Credit Controller Apprentice. The role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and building strong working relationships. You will be joining at an exciting and pivotal time supporting and maintaining business growth.

We provide full training and continuous coaching inhouse you will be given full in-depth regulated industry knowledge and have all the tools necessary to help you personally grow your career with the business.

Scope of the Role

As a Credit Controller Apprentice, you’ll support the finance team in managing customer accounts, monitoring payments, and helping to ensure the smooth running of our credit control processes. You’ll receive hands-on training, mentoring, and the chance to work toward a recognised qualification in finance or accounting.

Key Working Relationships (Internal): Finance Director, Financial Controller, Credit Control Manger, Head of People, the role will have integral links working with all departments.

Role & Responcibilities

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Assist with monitoring customer accounts and outstanding payments

  • Help prepare and send out statements, reminders, and account updates

  • Support the team in resolving customer queries in a professional manner

  • Update and maintain accurate records in our finance systems

  • Work closely with internal teams (sales, customer service, finance) to support effective credit control

  • Learn and apply company credit control policies and processes

  • Contribute to month-end admin tasks where required


GENERAL


  • Work collaboratively across Evolve Departments.

  • Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that the department’s work meets all organisational and legal frameworks, including but not exhaustively health and safety, safeguarding policies, GDPR, licensing and equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required

Personal Specification Skills & Experience

What Makes You the Perfect Fit:


  • Interest in finance or accounting

  • Confident communicator with a polite and professional manner

  • Adaptable, with a willingness to learn and take on feedback

  • Strong attention to detail and good organisation skills

  • Computer literate (e.g. Outlook, Excel)

  • GCSEs in Maths and English

  • Team player with a positive, proactive approach

  • Passion for creativity and fun


Bonus Points if You:


  • Have some experience in customer service, admin or any role involving communication

  • Enjoy problem solving and finding practical solutions

  • Have strong numeracy skills or enjoy working with data

  • Are proactive and organized

  • Excellent people skills, able to collaborate with a wide range of people to meet deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Roles maybe subject to DBS and Financial checks, any offer made will be conditional until checks are completed to a satisfactory standard.
